Driven by the vision of preserving an existing old industrial building, the design team focused on creating a healthy, inviting, and inspiring workplace to be the new home of the growing financial firm based in North Kansas City. The beautiful barrel ceiling was brought to its original natural wood texture as an anchoring element for the new office. The interior provides a combination of open and flexible spaces, with private offices, abundant conference rooms, and multiple Zoom rooms for private calls with clients. Acting as the visual centerpiece, a hospitality kitchen seamlessly transitions into a reception desk, while clients wait in the entry area. Another key design concept was to emphasize visual connectivity by taking advantage of the existing enclosed mezzanine level and opening it to the two-story volume to bring daylight to the staff kitchen space. The result is an infusion of industrial character and a modern inspiring workspace.
