HEALING BAY | CONCEPT

The concept focuses on creating a space that welcomes the veterans into a comfortable, state-of-the-art healthcare facility.

The building exterior materials are inspired by the white sand and the beautiful clear water of Corpus Christy beach. The composition of blue glass and multiple blue and green metal panels along with the Texas limestone provide the perfect contrast and contextual design. The striking elongated bar form with the large glass curtain wall on both north and south orientation creates an unmistakable identity for the clinic. The outdoor balcony facing the east side provides a place for patients and staff with access to fresh air and a place to relax and converse.

From clinical planning and programming, the program is organized into two stories. The first floor houses the state-of-the-art imaging department, mental health clinic, pathology lab, canteen, and indoor and outdoor dining spaces. Additionally, the first floor includes all the support spaces and the back of the house. The PACT module is located on the second floor.
